With the new addition of MASCHINE Studio, the integration with Ableton Live 9.0 has become far more responsive & fun, especially with the new high-resolution display screens, jog wheels and more. If you’ve been wondering how to set up the two (even if its Maschine MK2 or Maschine Mikro MK2), read on.

The steps are fairly simple:

1. Copy the Ableton Live 9 templates from the Native Instruments “Controller Editor”, located within the “Template Support Files”

2. Paste the template folders into the “MIDI Remote Scripts” folder within Ableton Live’s ‘App Resources’

3. Open NI’s “Controller Editor” and add an “Ableton Live” factory template.

4. Load up Ableton Live 9, open the MIDI Preferences and select MASCHINE as the control surface, along with the virtual inputs & outputs.

You’re done! Well, for the most part.
